Three Weeks Later--a mysterious heart decorates an envelope

Here's the next letter from Jennie to Jim.  She's addressed it to him at work, and it's obvious that she's written from her office.   But would she have put this design on the back of an envelope to be delivered to Jim at work?  Or did he decorate it after the fact?  It does look like his handwriting.   He must have saved this letter.  Maybe Jennie's teasing was just too much for him!  And just what does the little skull and crossbones mean here, anyway?

Dear Jim,
Just to keep you from being too lonesome I am writing, although I really don't think you deserve it, as this is Thursday and I have not had a line from you--never mind, some day I'll get square too.
Say! I'm almost frozen.  the office is like a barn, and my hands are stiff, so what

are you going to do about it?
How are you enjoying your last trip?  Hope you are treating that "Old Gent" half-way decent, so as you will have no reflections, for you know,
"It is'nt [sic] what you do Dear,
But the things you leave undone
that gives you many a heartache
at the setting of the Sun."
(I'm quite well thanks)
I have been quite good all week (my usual of course) and I don't know of anyone who is very lonesome for you

still there might be all the same.
Monday night we were invited over to Miss Ryans --our friend O'B [???] Monday morning (I am told) went in to Miss Ryan and was asking for me, and when she told him that I was going over at night he asked if he might not go too, &if I had no objections he would, so Miss Ryan phoned and asked me, my answer was "no difference to me" So he was there, but as he had to meet some train (his Aunt)

he had to leave early, before I got there, for just as we were leaving Mamie came down & Mother & Flossie went over alone, & I was going later (when Mamie & I got through talking) but Miss Ryan got impatient & she & O'B came over for me, but he only had time to go to the corner & catch his train--Anyway next Monday night Miss Ryan has invited us over again, also O'B, so I'm afraid there is something doing, guess I will have to marry the fellow--Don't you think so?

Tuesday & last night I retired very early, but I am still tired.  What do you recommend?
I hope you will get the gist of the Monday night story--I have to tell you something to fill up the paper.
The snaps Flossie took of your "Girl & Donald" on Sunday last are too cute for anything.
When are you coming back    I want to know.
How did you & Flossie's latest get home Sunday night?  I think he is

       Trusting you are well.
